Gyantse was a special, special place.... very small, very remote... this time, I actually said to myself, I am in the middle of nowhere. I woke up around 2am the night we stayed here, as I always do in foreign countries, I stand by the window and just listen, watch and smell the city as it sleeps. The dogs were barking, it was so still... a bit eerie actually. But very lovely. That night, I was thinking about our ascend to the Mt Everest Base Camp, late afternoon I bought a couple of oxygen tanks. I was excited and yet a bit anxious.. everyone was in our group, I think. The best trip of my life so far.
