Night-shots > viewfynder14  > Painting With Light- Nite Shots projects > Techatticup Mining Camp
These shots were taken in Nelson, NV with Nevada Camera Club group. It was a lot of fun having thirty avid photographers there with only the moon lighting the sky. This location is a private abandoned mine, 45 minutes drive from Las Vegas. What I enjoyed most doing this project is the similarity of using light as I would to paint acrylics on canvas.

viewfynder14 > It takes teamwork to do projects like this. We had a focus light person, sweep light person, steady-spot light person and a accent light person for this one shot. This was a 20 second exposure.
viewfynder14 > The main light here was a red gel and no other competing color for this theme. We put a green glow stick in the headlight of the truck and shone a blue light to the spotter on the wall.
viewfynder14 > The main light for this was a yellow gel. This was a 20 second exposure.
viewfynder14 > This was my favorite. I wish I had a wide angle to take the whole structure. The roof was illuminated briefly and the rest of the light was just a quick 10 sec sweep across the building. This was a 15 second exposure.
viewfynder14 > This came out really interesting. We hung a stick unto the rear view mirror, shone light on the hood and left steady accent lights. Light source colors for these were red and blue.
viewfynder14 > We shone a quick blue light indirectly to the car to let the accent colors saturate, and it made the glow stick inside pop out. It is missing a couple of love-birds inside making out.
viewfynder14 > Best shot of this subject, we used yellow and blue gels for the major light source.
